Build and deliver a cloud‑based proof‑of‑concept for an AI‑powered NHS receptionist, leveraging AWS services (EC2, VPC, Lambda, Route 53) and telephony platforms like FreeSWITCH and 3CX.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and configure a highly available AWS environment (dual‑AZ VPC, NLB, Route 53 failover) for the AI receptionist proof‑of‑concept.
- Deploy and manage FreeSWITCH instances on EC2, integrating them with 3CX and SIP trunks to handle inbound NHS GP practice calls.
- Implement serverless components using AWS Lambda to process call routing, identity verification, and conversation orchestration.
- Automate infrastructure setup and updates, ensuring repeatable, version‑controlled deployments.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise cost and latency for a production‑scale simulation.
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience with core AWS services: EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, Route 53, and Lambda.
- Proficiency in deploying and managing FreeSWITCH and 3CX telephony platforms in cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of SIP, VoIP networking, and high‑availability architecture.
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to work autonomously on a time‑boxed, deliverable‑driven project and communicate progress clearly.
