Software Engineer
Analyze and optimize AWS cloud spend, driving cost efficiency and financial insight for clients using advanced data analysis, Excel, SQL, and AWS billing tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, cleanse, and analyze AWS cost and usage data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models and dashboards in Excel and BI tools to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation.
- Collaborate with engineering and security teams to implement cost‑saving measures, such as reserved instances, spot instances, and resource right‑sizing.
- Prepare clear, actionable reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, translating technical findings into business insights.
- Stay current on AWS pricing changes, new services, and industry best practices to continuously improve billing processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cloud cost management or financial analysis within AWS environments.
- Proficiency with AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, and detailed billing reports.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and SQL for data extraction.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial data to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with cost‑optimization tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability) is a plus.
