AVP, Applications Manager - Cathay General Bancorp

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of core banking applications, from requirements gathering through design, development, testing, and production support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate financial services needs into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
• Manage a cross‑functional team of developers, analysts, and vendors, ensuring adherence to Agile ceremonies and delivery timelines.
• Oversee application performance, security, and compliance, implementing best practices for cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and on‑premise infrastructure.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including code quality, automation, and DevOps pipelines, to enhance system reliability and reduce time‑to‑market.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; 7+ years of experience in application development and management within the financial services industry.
• Proven expertise in Java development, SQL database design, and modern cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, project management principles, and software development lifecycle best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills, with a track record of delivering complex, mission‑critical applications.
• Experience with regulatory compliance, security standards, and performance monitoring in a banking environment.
