WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Security Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise physical security systems, with a primary focus on Avigilon video management, access control, and integrated security technologies. This role partners with security operations, IT teams, project managers, contractors, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and compliant security solutions across multiple facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, deploy, and support Avigilon security solutions, including Avigilon Unity/Control Center (ACC), Access Control Manager (ACM), and video analytics platforms.
- Engineer and maintain enterprise CCTV, video surveillance, access control, intercom, intrusion detection, and perimeter security systems.
- Manage system configurations, upgrades, patching, firmware updates, and lifecycle planning for physical security devices.
- Develop security technology standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and system diagrams.
- Perform system troubleshooting and root cause analysis for hardware, software, networking, and integration issues.
- Support integration of Avigilon platforms with enterprise applications, identity management systems, and third-party security solutions.
- Collaborate with physical security construction and project teams to support new site deployments, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Review construction drawings, security designs, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
- Conduct site surveys, risk assessments, and technology evaluations for new and existing facilities.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, privacy, and regulatory requirements related to security technologies.
- Provide technical guidance to security operations teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Support testing, commissioning, system acceptance, and turnover activities for new installations.
- Develop and maintain monitoring, maintenance, and disaster recovery procedures for critical security systems.
- Participate in on-call support and incident response activities as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Physical Security, or equivalent experience.
