Software Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing automation solutions, leveraging PLCs, SCADA, Python, and robotics to increase efficiency and support rapid scale‑up of sodium‑ion battery production.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain PLC and SCADA architectures to control and monitor production lines.
- Design, program, and integrate robotic cells and automated material handling systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to define automation requirements and translate them into reliable control solutions.
- Implement data acquisition and analytics pipelines using Python to drive continuous improvement and predictive maintenance.
- Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and rapid resolution of automation issues to minimize downtime.
- Mentor junior automation engineers and promote best practices in safety, documentation, and version control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field with 5+ years of hands‑on automation experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and SCADA/HMI development.
- Strong Python scripting skills for data handling, device communication, and automation testing.
- Experience integrating industrial robotics and vision systems into production lines.
- Solid understanding of control systems theory, safety standards, and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
