Software Engineer
Hands‑on Automation Engineering Technician who develops, tests, and deploys robotics, machine‑vision, and connected equipment solutions for a high‑mix hand‑tool manufacturing environment, leveraging PLCs, Python, and data‑acquisition systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and integrate robotic and machine‑vision systems on the shop floor to improve productivity and quality.
- Develop PLC logic, HMI screens, and Python scripts for equipment control, data collection, and real‑time monitoring.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and IT teams to translate concept ideas into reliable, maintainable automation solutions.
- Perform troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions on automated equipment and connected devices.
- Document designs, test results, and standard operating procedures; provide training to operators and maintenance staff.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in automation, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience with PLC programming (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and industrial robotics.
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, data acquisition, and equipment integration.
- Experience with machine‑vision hardware/software and networking of connected manufacturing equipment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work cross‑functionally, and excellent documentation practices.
