Auth and Fraud Consultant
Seeking an experienced Auth and Fraud Consultant to support credit card authorization optimization, fraud prevention, and portfolio performance management. The role focuses on improving approval rates, reducing false declines, enhancing fraud controls, and delivering analytics-driven business outcomes in card issuing environments.
Purpose of Job
Support the Credit Cards business by optimizing authorization performance, fraud controls, and portfolio health while maintaining the right balance between customer experience (approval rates) and risk management (fraud prevention).
Key Responsibilities
Develop deep understanding of the bank’s credit card portfolio including customer segments, spending behavior, and lifecycle performance.
Drive authorization optimization strategies to improve approval rates while maintaining acceptable risk thresholds.
Analyze authorization declines, identify patterns, and reduce false declines to enhance customer experience.
Collaborate with fraud and risk teams to strengthen fraud controls without impacting genuine transaction approvals.
Monitor and report key KPIs including approval rates, decline rates, fraud rates, and portfolio performance metrics.
Deliver data-driven insights and analytics to support business, risk, and operations decisions.
Enhance MIS and reporting dashboards focused on authorization performance and fraud trends.
Act as the liaison between Mastercard and issuer stakeholders across business, risk, fraud, and operations teams.
Support implementation of authorization and fraud optimization initiatives within issuing environments.
Establish governance mechanisms to track performance, outcomes, and continuous improvements.
Coordinate with Mastercard teams to adopt industry best practices and global insights.
Enable knowledge transfer and capability building within cards and fraud teams.
Required Experience & Skills
10–12 years of experience in cards issuing, fraud risk, and authorization management.
Strong understanding of the credit card lifecycle including activation, usage, retention, and spend growth.
Proven experience in authorization strategy and fraud controls.
Hands-on familiarity with fraud and authorization platforms.
Strong analytical capability with experience translating insights into actionable business outcomes.
Experience collaborating with cards business, risk, and fraud teams.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Knowledge of SAMA regulations related to fraud reporting and liability.
Understanding of KSA/GCC fraud trends and compliance considerations.
