About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the development and execution of flood risk models using tools such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HM, and custom Python scripts.
- Oversee GIS data integration, spatial analysis, and visualization to support floodplain mapping and scenario planning.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, providing technical mentorship and ensuring quality standards across all modelling deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, and risk communication strategies.
- Produce technical reports, presentations, and decision‑support tools that translate complex model outputs into actionable recommendations.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Environmental Science, or related field with 8+ years of flood modelling experience.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HM) and strong programming skills in Python for automation and data processing.
- Extensive experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS, QGIS) and spatial data management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage client relationships in large‑scale infrastructure projects.
- Excellent communication skills, with a track record of producing clear technical documentation and presentations for diverse audiences.
