Associate Professor or DTU Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management - DTU Engineering

Join our section to educate the next generation of engineers and conduct research on competitive, resilient, and sustainable manufacturing and logistics systems. We invite you to join our section “Production, Transportation and Planning”, where you will have colleagues with a mix of research and industry experience. Our current team of researchers work with operations and supply chain management, LEAN manufacturing, life cycle assessment methods, remanufacturing, freight and logistics, among other. We are looking for a colleague with a strong research profile in operations and supply chain management and an ambition to create impact through digital technologies, industry collaboration, and engineering education. You will contribute to the section’s research within these areas:

• Technology implementation and digital transformation in manufacturing and logistics organisations.
• AI, data analytics, automation, and decision-support systems for operations and supply chain management
• Manufacturing, operations, and supply chain management enabled by digital technologies, including planning, forecasting, inventory management, and performance improvement.
• Sustainable, circular, and resilient manufacturing and supply chains enabled by digital technologies, for example remanufacturing, reverse logistics, and resource efficiency initiatives.
• Organisational adoption, scaling, and management of digital technologies in industrial and logistics contexts.

Responsibilities and qualifications Your overall focus will be to strengthen our teaching and research in the field of operations and supply chain management, including digital technology implementation in manufacturing and logistics. We expect you to take the lead in driving the academic agenda and delivering impact to society and our common future. To do so, you will:

• Develop your research field by defining ideas and concepts for future projects
• Write and collaborate on research proposals, incl. PhD projects
• Conduct and (potentially) lead research projects with partners across the globe
• If associate professor, supervise PhDs; if assistant professor, co-supervise PhDs
• Teach and supervise in engineering education and continuing education for professionals
