Devops Engineer
Entry‑level engineer focused on Linux system administration, datacenter infrastructure, and automation using Ansible, VMware, and scripting to support mission‑critical defense applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related services in a high‑availability datacenter environment.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and patch management using Ansible playbooks and custom scripts.
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi/vSphere) including VM lifecycle management and resource optimization.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot performance issues, and respond to incidents following established SLAs.
- Collaborate with network and security teams to implement firewall rules, VLANs, and secure connectivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands‑on experience with Linux systems.
- Proficiency in Bash or other shell scripting; familiarity with Python for automation tasks.
- Experience with configuration management tools, preferably Ansible.
- Understanding of virtualization concepts and practical exposure to VMware environments.
- Strong problem‑solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced technical setting.
