Software Engineer
Associate in Fire Protection Engineering responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing fire safety solutions across diverse industries, leveraging risk analysis, process safety, and digital tools to protect lives and assets.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review fire protection system designs, including suppression, detection, and evacuation strategies for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
- Conduct hazard and risk assessments, perform fire modeling, and prepare compliance documentation for local, state, and international codes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire safety into building design, process safety, and emergency management plans.
- Utilize digital tools and simulation software to analyze fire scenarios and optimize system performance.
- Assist in forensic investigations and incident analysis to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong understanding of NFPA codes, OSHA regulations, and international fire safety standards.
- Experience with fire modeling software (e.g., FDS, PyroSim) and CAD tools.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
