Security Engineer
Entry‑level cybersecurity engineer focused on threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability remediation using Python, AWS, and SIEM tools to protect Visa’s global payment infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM platforms, triaging incidents and coordinating response actions.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on cloud and on‑premise environments, documenting findings and recommending mitigations.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for automating security workflows, data collection, and reporting.
- Assist in the design and implementation of AWS security controls, including IAM, VPC security groups, and GuardDuty.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with industry standards (PCI‑DSS, ISO 27001) and internal security policies.
- Participate in post‑incident reviews, contributing to root‑cause analysis and improvement of defensive measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or related roles.
- Hands‑on experience with Python scripting and AWS security services.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability management platforms.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
