Software Engineer
Assistant Technical Director supporting VFX pipelines, troubleshooting workflow tools, and building artist‑centric utilities using Python, Node.js, and AWS on large networked file systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on‑site technical support for creative teams, diagnosing and resolving pipeline and workflow tool issues.
- Develop and maintain custom tools in Python and Node.js to streamline artist workflows and enhance production efficiency.
- Manage and optimize data storage on a large networked file system, ensuring reliable access and data integrity.
- Collaborate with pipeline engineers to design and implement scalable solutions using AWS services.
- Document processes, create user guides, and conduct training sessions for artists and technical staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience with Python and Node.js in a production environment.
- Strong understanding of VFX pipelines, pipeline tools, and workflow automation.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda) and networked file systems.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across creative and technical teams.
- Effective communication skills and a proactive approach to documentation and training.
