About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue strategic funding opportunities, including federal, state, and private grants, to support AI research projects.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, industry partners, and research collaborators, serving as the primary liaison for funding and partnership initiatives.
- Provide expert guidance on proposal development, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities and compliance with funding agency requirements.
- Conduct market and competitive intelligence to inform research strategy and funding proposals.
- Collaborate with research teams to develop project budgets, timelines, and deliverables for grant submissions.
- Track and report on funding pipeline, proposal status, and award outcomes to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Public Policy, or Business) with a strong background in AI research.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in research development, grant writing, or fundraising within academia or a research institute.
- Demonstrated success in securing multi‑million dollar research funding and managing complex grant proposals.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and familiarity with AI research trends.
