ML Engineer
Lead the design and optimization of ASICs for AWS’s cloud‑scale machine learning inference servers, driving performance, power, and reliability for high‑throughput inference workloads.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and verify RTL for custom ASICs used in AWS Inferentia inference servers.
- Collaborate with architecture, firmware, and software teams to define functional specifications and performance targets.
- Perform synthesis, timing analysis, and power optimization to meet strict data‑center scale requirements.
- Prototype designs on FPGA platforms, validate functionality, and iterate for silicon readiness.
- Document design decisions, create detailed design reviews, and support silicon validation and production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of ASIC design experience, with strong proficiency in Verilog/VHDL and RTL design.
- Hands‑on experience with synthesis tools (Synopsys, Cadence), timing closure, and power analysis.
- Familiarity with high‑speed serial interfaces (SerDes, PCIe) and FPGA prototyping.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, strong communication, and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
