This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Arquiteto(a) / Engenheiro(a) de Dados – Databricks SR based in Brazil.

This role is an opportunity for an experienced data professional to design and evolve modern data platforms using Lakehouse architecture and cutting-edge cloud technologies. You will be responsible for building scalable data solutions, improving data processing capabilities, and defining best practices for architecture, governance, and performance. The position combines technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and collaboration with teams to deliver reliable and high-performing data ecosystems. You will work with Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark, and cloud environments to transform complex data challenges into strategic business solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles, architecture patterns, and scalable pipeline development. This is a consulting opportunity with an initial six-month renewable contract, offering exposure to impactful technology projects.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Data Architect / Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing modern data platforms while ensuring scalability, governance, and performance. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to support teams through complex data initiatives.

• Design and evolve data platforms based on Lakehouse architecture principles.
• Develop scalable ETL and ELT pipelines to support business and analytical needs.
• Implement and optimize solutions using Databricks and Delta Lake.
• Build and maintain data processing workflows using PySpark and SQL.
• Define architecture standards, governance practices, and performance optimization strategies.
• Integrate and transform data from multiple sources while ensuring reliability and quality.
• Support technical teams with guidance on data engineering practices and architecture decisions.
• Document technical solutions, processes, and architectural standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data platforms, tools, and engineering practices.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a senior data professional with strong experience in data engineering, cloud platforms, and modern analytics architectures.

• Solid experience working with Databricks, PySpark, and SQL .
• Strong knowledge of Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture concepts.
• Experience designing and developing ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
• Experience with data modeling and data integration solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) .
