About The Job:
The Architect exercises good judgment and is responsible for working independently with minimal instruction whilst making sound decisions to resolve moderately complex technical issues. This role supports the Territory Services Manager (TSM) to develop and review task lists, develops high level design architecture, leads Services discovery sessions, and guides deployments, ensuring successful implementation of Red Hat solutions. The Architect provides technical expertise during presales activities and builds solid customer relationships, contributing to solution adoption and revenue growth.
s a Consulting Architect for OpenShift Virtualization, you will be the cornerstone of Red Hat ’s Professional Services team. You aren’t just a technical expert; you are a strategic leader who guides our largest enterprise customers through the complex transition from traditional hypervisors to modern, container-based infrastructure. In this role, you will design and implement architectures that allow customers to run Virtual Machines (VMs) and containers on a unified platform. You will lead high-impact engagements, helping clients de-risk their infrastructure modernization and achieve faster time-to-value with Red Hat OpenShift.
What Will You Do:
Strategic Consulting: Conduct architectural discovery sessions and "Design-and-Build" workshops to align technical solutions with business outcomes.
Solution Delivery: Lead the end-to-end implementation of OpenShift Virtualization, including platform installation, networking (OVN-K), and storage (OpenShift Data Foundation/Ceph).
Migration Leadership: Plan and execute large-scale VM migrations (from VMware or Hyper-V) using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV), ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
Automation Mastery: Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Ansible and GitOps principles to ensure repeatable, production-ready environments.
Client Advocacy: Act as a technical liaison between the customer and Red Hat Product Engineering, identifying product gaps and advocating for feature enhancements.
Mentorship: Lead a team of consultants on-site, providing technical oversight and ensuring best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
What Will You Bring:
Deep Virtualization Knowledge: Expert-level understanding of KVM and QEMU. Significant experience with VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter) is required to facilitate migrations.
Container Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes, specifically focused on KubeVirt or running stateful workloads.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced proficiency with Ansible and Terraform for full-stack automation.
Enterprise Networking/Storage: Deep understanding of software-defined networking (SDN), load balancing, and persistent storage protocols (CSI, iSCSI, Fib
