Software Engineer
Lead research and development of advanced LLM‑based search solutions, improving natural language understanding and relevance across Amazon’s search platform.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and deploy large language model architectures to enhance search relevance for complex, natural‑language queries.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate LLM outputs into the core search pipeline, ensuring low latency and high throughput.
- Conduct rigorous evaluation and benchmarking against existing keyword‑based systems, publishing internal reports and external papers.
- Iterate on model training pipelines, leveraging AWS services for scalable data processing and model training.
- Mentor junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, NLP, or related field with strong publication record.
- Proven experience building and scaling transformer‑based models for real‑world applications.
- Deep knowledge of NLP techniques, including tokenization, embeddings, and fine‑tuning.
- Hands‑on expertise with Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow, and AWS ML services.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex research into production‑ready solutions.
