Research Engineer
Conduct applied AI research on LLMs, NLP, and multimodal models, building prototypes, benchmarks, and production‑ready solutions that deliver measurable business value for banking applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute applied research projects on large language models, generative AI, NLP, and multimodal AI to solve banking‑specific problems.
- Develop prototypes, conduct rigorous experiments, and create benchmark suites to evaluate model performance, safety, and reliability.
- Collaborate with AI engineering and platform teams to transition research outcomes into production‑grade services.
- Provide model selection guidance, fine‑tuning strategies, and evaluation frameworks for Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and agentic workflows.
- Document findings, publish internal white‑papers, and present results to stakeholders to demonstrate measurable business impact.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field with a focus on NLP or generative AI.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Hands‑on experience developing, fine‑tuning, and evaluating large language models and retrieval‑augmented generation pipelines.
- Proven ability to translate research prototypes into scalable, production‑ready solutions, preferably in a financial services context.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a track record of publishing or presenting research outcomes.
