Join Swabian Instruments as an Applications Scientist in our Research & Applications team in Stuttgart! As an Application Scientist you will support our customers in quantum technology and single-photon counting applications and develop new application ideas around our product portfolio. You help them get the best out of our products. You understand their experiments, solve technical questions and turn customer feedback into new ideas.
Your special strength is your Mandarin Chinese proficiency at C1/C2 level or equivalent, enabling fluent professional communication in both spoken and written form. This allows you to work closely with our team in Shanghai and with customers in China. Around one quarter of your role is dedicated to this interface.
You enjoy scientific discussions, clear communication and working across cultures.
Your contribution to our team
Support customers in quantum optics, single-photon counting and time-correlated measurements.
Become an expert in our Time Tagger software, API and product portfolio.
Write scripts and examples in Python, MATLAB or another suitable language.
Contribute to research projects, application notes and pilot collaborations.
Represent Swabian Instruments at customer visits, trade shows and conferences.
Work closely with our colleagues in Shanghai and act as a technical bridge between them and HQ, transferring knowledge on recurring technical topics.
Share the support workload for Chinese customers with the Shanghai team
Join selected customer visits, trade shows and conferences in China, and bring customer needs and feedback from the region back to HQ in a structured way.
