Analytics and Research Director - Life Raft Group, Inc.

The Life Raft Group (LRG) is seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious Director of Analytics and Research to join our Data Management and Research team. This position plays a central role in advancing LRG’s research agenda by leveraging the organization’s patient registry and collaborating with external researchers, clinicians, and academic institutions.

The Director of Analytics and Research will apply advanced biostatistical methods to patient-reported and clinical data while also helping shape research priorities, develop study concepts, and lead research initiatives from idea generation through execution and dissemination. This individual will work closely with internal teams and external partners to generate meaningful insights that improve scientific understanding and ultimately support better outcomes for patients living with rare cancers.

The ideal candidate brings strong statistical training, experience conducting applied health or clinical research, and the initiative to proactively identify impactful research questions within complex datasets. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with one of the most comprehensive patient registries in the rare disease community and contribute to research that informs clinical practice and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Biostatistical Modeling

• Apply advanced statistical and biostatistical techniques to large, longitudinal patient registry datasets containing patient-reported outcomes, treatment histories, and clinical variables.
• Conduct survival and time-to-event analyses (e.g., Kaplan–Meier estimation, Cox proportional hazards models) to evaluate treatment patterns, progression, and outcomes.
• Perform multivariate regression modeling, including generalized linear models, mixed-effects models, and hierarchical models appropriate for observational health data.
• Design, execute, and interpret analyses supporting observational studies, outcomes research, and exploratory investigations.
• Apply causal inference methods (e.g., propensity score matching, inverse probability weighting) to address confounding in observational registry data.
• Evaluate missing data patterns, bias, and potential confounding, and apply appropriate statistical approaches such as sensitivity analyses or imputation methods.
• Develop reproducible analytical pipelines and maintain high standards of analytical rigor and transparency.
• Ensure statistical accuracy and appropriate interpretation of research findings.

Research Development & Scientific Leadership

• Contribute to shaping LRG’s research strategy and agenda by identifying high-impact research questions informed by patient data, clinical trends, and gaps in the literature.
• Develop research concepts, hypotheses, and study designs in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
