ALERT IIS System Analyst & Technical Lead - State of Oregon
Engineering Manager
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the ALERT IIS platform, driving system architecture, API integration, and performance optimization using IIS, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and AWS services.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and maintain the ALERT IIS system, ensuring high availability and scalability on IIS and AWS infrastructure.
- Design and implement SQL database schemas, optimize queries, and manage data integrity across multiple health data sources.
- Lead API development and integration, enabling secure data exchange between ALERT IIS and external public health systems.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and provide ongoing system support.
- Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines to accelerate release cycles and maintain code quality.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices in secure coding and documentation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in web application development with IIS, SQL Server, and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript (Node.js or front‑end frameworks) for backend and API services.
- Strong understanding of database design, performance tuning, and data security compliance.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure as code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, communication, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
