AI Engineer
Develop AI agents and automation software that bridge machine intelligence with laboratory hardware, enabling autonomous biology experiments using Python, machine learning, robotics, and cloud infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain AI agents that can generate experimental protocols, analyze results, and iteratively improve hypotheses.
- Develop software interfaces that connect AI models to robotic lab equipment, ensuring reliable execution of biology experiments.
- Build and scale cloud‑based pipelines (e.g., AWS) for data ingestion, model training, and real‑time control of laboratory hardware.
- Collaborate with biologists and data scientists to translate scientific objectives into reproducible, automated workflows.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware‑software integration issues, and continuously optimize latency and throughput.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with machine‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Hands‑on experience building or integrating robotics/automation systems in a lab or manufacturing setting.
- Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Background in AI agent architectures, reinforcement learning, or generative models applied to scientific problems.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally with biologists, engineers, and product teams to deliver end‑to‑end automated solutions.
