About the Team
The AI Solutions Org is a new, high-velocity engineering unit at Flipkart with a singular mission: to accelerate AI adoption across the entire company. Will operate as a "SWAT team" for AI - building end-to-end solutions for business functions that lack engineering bandwidth, while also partnering with the core Data Science team to optimize and scale state-of-the-art models (FK LLMs, Open Source, Commercial).
About the Role
The "AI-Native" DNA This is not a traditional software engineering role. We believe the future of coding is AI-assisted. You are expected to be an AI-Native Engineer:
- You don't just write code; you orchestrate it. You leverage tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and LLMs to write code, generate test cases, debug, and perform RCAs at 10x speed.
- You are Full-Stack + AI. You are comfortable setting up a backend API, building a quick UI, and engineering a complex RAG pipeline in the same sprint.
What you’ll do
- Implement specific modules or features within an AI application under guidance.
- Write clean, efficient code (Python/Java/Go) assisted by AI coding companions.
- Build basic integrations with LLM APIs and prompt engineering.
- Create unit tests and documentation using AI tools.
- Own complete features of an AI tool (e.g., "Build a chatbot interface for the HR policy document").
- Set up basic RAG pipelines (Vector DBs, Embeddings).
- Deploy services using internal platforms (MLP) or cloud-native tools (Docker/K8s).
- Debug production issues using AI-driven root cause analysis.
- Design end-to-end architecture for mid-sized AI applications.
- Work on Model Optimization: Assist DS in basic fine-tuning jobs (LoRA/QLoRA) and optimize inference latency.
- Evaluate and select the right model (Commercial vs. Open Source) for cost/performance trade-offs.
- Mentor Grade 8/9 engineers on AI-native workflows.
You should have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 3-6 years exp. Proven ability to ship ML/AI powered apps.
- Understanding of system design and ML serving infrastructure.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
