QA Engineer
Design, develop and deploy AI and automation solutions for public services, leveraging Python, machine learning models, RPA tools and cloud infrastructure to improve efficiency and enable reusable digital services.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain AI models and automation workflows that can be reused across multiple council services and partner organisations.
- Develop production‑ready code in Python, integrating data pipelines, APIs and cloud services to support AI‑driven decision making.
- Implement and manage Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions using leading platforms, ensuring scalability, reliability and compliance with governance standards.
- Collaborate with business analysts, service managers and IT teams to translate service requirements into technical specifications and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
- Provide technical guidance, documentation and training to internal teams to promote adoption and continuous improvement of AI and automation capabilities.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing AI/ML models and automation scripts, preferably in a public sector or large‑scale organisational context.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with data engineering concepts (ETL, data lakes, APIs).
- Hands‑on experience with RPA tools (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in AI, Machine Learning, Data Science or Automation engineering.
