Devops Engineer
Engineer responsible for configuring, operating, and maintaining servers, switches, and storage that support integration testing of the Aegis Combat System on DDG‑51 Flight III ships.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot ACI hardware (servers, network switches, storage arrays) to enable combat system testing.
- Maintain and monitor operating systems (Linux, Windows Server) and virtualization platforms supporting test environments.
- Develop and execute automated scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for system provisioning, health checks, and data collection.
- Collaborate with test engineers to integrate software updates and resolve infrastructure‑related issues during test cycles.
- Document configuration baselines, change control procedures, and test results to ensure repeatability and compliance.
Requirements
- Experience with server hardware, network switch configuration, and enterprise storage technologies.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration, including virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar).
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for automation and diagnostics.
- Understanding of secure networking concepts and ability to work with classified environments (Secret clearance required).
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with a willingness to travel up to 10% within the continental US.
