Software Engineer
Internship supporting Level 4 autonomous driving research by developing multimodal AI models—including vision‑language, vision‑language‑action, and large language models—for data triage, simulation, and verification.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate multimodal AI models (VLMs, VLAs, LLMs, world models) for autonomous driving applications.
- Develop data‑triage pipelines and integrate model outputs into simulation and verification environments.
- Collaborate with U.S. and Japan engineering teams to align research goals with vehicle system requirements.
- Conduct experiments, analyze results, and document findings to support Level 4 autonomous driving development.
- Assist in creating and maintaining ROS‑based software stacks for sensor fusion and perception tasks.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with machine‑learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with computer‑vision techniques, large language models, and multimodal learning.
- Hands‑on experience with simulation tools (e.g., CARLA, Gazebo) and ROS is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work in a cross‑functional, international team.
