Security Engineer
A hands‑on Access Control Engineer needed to install, terminate and commission security cabling and access control equipment across building sites, with focus on Xplan systems and on‑site troubleshooting.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate and test security cabling and related hardware on construction and occupied public building sites.
- Configure, commission and maintain Xplan access control systems and other access control equipment.
- Perform on‑site troubleshooting, fault diagnosis and corrective actions to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with project managers and site teams to meet installation schedules and safety standards.
- Document as‑built configurations, test results and handover reports for client acceptance.
Requirements
- Proven experience with cabling, termination and hardware installation in a field environment.
- Familiarity with access control platforms, preferably Xplan or similar systems.
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices for physical security systems.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently on diverse sites.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout South Wales.
