Software Engineer
The ADI Department is seeking a Principal Engineer to serve as the ABMS Integration Lead supporting the Department of the Air Force Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management (DAF PEO C3BM).
The MITRE Corporation’s All-Domain Integration (ADI) Department (N174) partners with the Department of the Air Force (DAF) to accelerate the delivery of integrated command and control capabilities that enable the Air Force, Space Force, Joint Force, and Coalition partners to operate at the speed of relevance. Through expertise in mission engineering, systems integration, systems engineering, architecture, modeling and simulation, and operational analysis, MITRE provides independent technical leadership supporting the evolution of the Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS), the Department of the Air Force Battle Network (DBN), and Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2).
The ADI Department is seeking a Principal Engineer to serve as the ABMS Integration Lead supporting the Department of the Air Force Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications and Battle Management (DAF PEO C3BM).
The ABMS Integration Lead provides technical leadership for planning, coordinating, and executing ABMS Integration Events that validate the integration of capabilities across the ABMS portfolio and demonstrate mission-level operational outcomes. Working across multiple ABMS branches, the ABMS Chief Engineer, the 96th Test Squadron, acquisition programs, operational stakeholders, and MITRE technical teams, the ABMS Integration Lead ensures that continual cross branch integration by design occurs across ABMS culminating in integration events as the proving ground for delivering mission-integrated warfighting capability.
ABMS Integration Events (AIEs) are central to transforming ABMS from a collection of independent programs into a cohesive operational capability. Guided by operational mission threads, AIEs validate system-of-systems (SoS) engineering, enterprise architecture, interoperability, resiliency, and data integration while providing measurable evidence of mission effectiveness. These events establish a common integration target across product lines, reduce technical and programmatic risk, and accelerate the transition of capabilities from development and experimentation into operational use.
Success in this role requires exceptional technical leadership, systems integration expertise, organizational coordination, and the ability to influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries while maintaining focus on mission outcomes.
