Data Engineer
Geospatial Data Engineer building and validating topologically accurate geodata using PostGIS, Trino, and Iceberg in a remote-first environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality geospatial datasets with topological integrity.
- Leverage PostGIS, Trino, and Iceberg to ingest, transform, and query large spatial data volumes.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product teams to validate data accuracy and performance.
- Implement automated pipelines for data validation, testing, and continuous integration.
- Document data models, schemas, and best practices for geospatial data management.
Requirements
- Strong experience with PostGIS, Trino, and Iceberg in production environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
- Deep understanding of spatial data models, topology, and geospatial indexing.
- Experience building data pipelines and working with large datasets.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
