He was the founder/CTO of Metafor Software (acq. by Splunk), where he developed next-generation machine learning analytics and anomaly detection for IT Ops and Security. He was the founder/CTO of Layer 7 Technologies (acq. by Computer Associates), one of the most successful vendors in the API Management/SOA Governance and Security space. Prior to Layer 7, he was the founding CTO of Saffron Technology (acq. by Intel), building cognitive computing systems for Big Data. Toufic was the Chief Architect for SOA at IBM's Software Group. At IBM, he founded the first SOA team and drove IBM's early XML and SOA strategies. He is one of the authors of the SOA Manifesto (http://www.soa-manifesto.org). Toufic is a sought-after presenter and has been the technical chair of many conferences. He has been actively involved with various standards organizations such as OASIS and W3C as editor and co-author. He is the author of many publications, articles, and several books, including "Building Web Services with Java" and "Java P2P Unleashed". Toufic holds a Master of Electrical Engineering degree from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University.
