From an early age, my passion for creating computer games drove me to teach myself programming, starting with BASIC on the BBC Master 128. By the age of 12, I had developed my first platform game, Caverns of Fear, and enjoyed watching my brothers play it. I also created educational software for my father, which was used in his school and demonstrated to other secondary schools. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of being involved in various start-up ventures, including developing a social media platform, a property investor portal, and launching a men’s grooming range using Shopify and Amazon Seller Central. These experiences fueled my entrepreneurial spirit and deepened my technical expertise. Currently, as Head of Engineering at P1 Investment Services, I lead our engineering team in delivering cutting-edge fintech solutions that drive efficiency for financial advisers. I built the foundations of the P1 platform and now guide a talented team in enhancing and scaling its capabilities. Our recent innovations were recognized when we won the Leading Innovation Award at the Schroders UK Platform Awards 2024. My passion for technology and continuous learning drives me to constantly explore new concepts and tools. I firmly believe that passion is more important than experience in driving innovation and delivering successful solutions. I’m particularly excited about the opportunities presented by AI and how it can be leveraged to transform enterprise solutions and create competitive advantages.
