Finance for Social Change | Ventures | Product Leader
Susie is a systems changer, product leader, and coach helping people and businesses unleash their potential. Currently, she is the Vice President at the global think tank, Criterion Institute, where she examines how to use finance as a tool for social change by shifting power dynamics in investment processes. Previously, she was the Director of Ventures at Coralus (formerly SheEO), a radically generous community supporting women + non-binary people working on the World’s To-Do List. Prior to SheEO, Susie was an early-stage startup product manager and operator, having joined as the first 10 employees 3 times to help companies get to product-market fit, and worked at Canada's largest bank (RBC) as an Entrepreneur in Residence and Product Lead. In September 2019, Susie quit her job, packed up her life in Canada, and jumped on a 1-way flight to New Zealand to take some time to deeply reflect on what's next. Transitioning out of sabbatical, she decided to dedicate the next chapter of her career to providing more equitable capital access for non-traditional entrepreneurs. Susie holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University in Canada, and currently lives in San Francisco California with her husband. Outside of work, Susie is an avid (semi-artistic) bullet journaler and crafter with a slight addiction to stationery and bubble tea.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience across startups, venture capital, and non-profit organizations, including founding a non-profit (Science Expo), indicates an entrepreneurial spirit and adaptability. Their involvement with organizations like Coralus and Criterion Institute suggests an interest in impact-driven work. However, the primary experience is in product management, venture, and marketing, which may not directly align with a pure 'Software Engineer' role without further evidence of hands-on coding or system design contributions. The breadth of roles suggests a versatile individual, but the direct cultural fit for a deep technical engineering team requires more information.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills through various product and venture roles. Their experience in managing teams and driving projects from conception to execution suggests a high degree of operational fit for roles requiring initiative and cross-functional collaboration. The descriptions indicate an ability to work in dynamic, startup-like environments and translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders.
