Principle Engineering Manager, Efficient AI Team, STMicroelectronics
With a mission to "Make AI accessible and affordable to benefit everyone's daily life", Deeplite is developing the AI-driven optimizer & runtime to make neural networks faster, smaller, and, energy-efficient from cloud to edge computing. As the VP of Engineering at Deeplite, I lead the engineering team, contribute in the applied research, and manage customer engagements. My current applied research interests are around model compression, quantization (ultra low bit quantization), hardware-aware model optimization, and edge AI runtimes (tvm, tflite etc). I am a hands-on technology leader with a unique blend of technology and business expertise (having a Ph.D. in Computer Science and an executive MBA in general management). I have over a decade experience of working with ML and computer vision and more than 6 years of experience with cutting-edge deep learning models. I have worked in both the research and the development set up ranging from large corporations like Samsung, and SK Telecom to startups like EyeEm, AIBrain, and Deeplite. I possess good research skills, a problem-solving attitude, and application development experience using Python, C/C++. I also possess good GPGPU parallel programming skills for writing optimized parallel codes. I have led research teams to work on new technologies and/or develop new solutions for customers. Apart from focussing on the technical side, I have also worked on spreading the culture of innovation in a company that includes paper writing, patent filing, managing innovation competitions, etc. I have filed for multiple patents in India, Europe, Korea, and the US. I am passionate about catching up with upcoming technologies which can be seen in my CV as I have worked on different types of problems using upcoming technologies.
