Distributed File System:
March 1, 2015 – Present
As a course project, implemented a distributed file system similar to HDFS with all the major functionalities of NameNode and DataNode, then built a Map-Reduce framework on that that can handle data upto 10GB.
Face Recognition
January 1, 2015 – April 1, 2015
Built a system which identifies a test face based on a given set of training faces with varied emotions. The system was trained by generating a varied set of eigen faces for each of the given faces. This was implemented in python.
Music Mining and Regenaration
August 1, 2014 – April 1, 2015
The primary objective of this project was to generate an instrumental bit using an artificial synthesizer(ex midi package in java) corresponding to the given carnatic (traditional Indian music) vocal using Pitch Estimation and Note Transcription techniques mostly implemented in matlab
Data Encryption and Audio Steganography
September 1, 2013 – April 1, 2014
The motivation for the project was to represent a large data set as an audio clip and encrypt it into non-traditional medium like songs. Classical music was used to represent the data which was encrypted into an outer medium(western music) using the steganography algorithms like low-bit encoding, phase coding and echo hiding.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a strong background in research and development within large tech companies (Meta, Microsoft), indicating a fit for fast-paced, innovation-driven environments. Their diverse personal projects, ranging from distributed file systems to music mining and steganography, show intellectual curiosity and a broad interest in complex technical challenges. However, the target role is 'Data Analyst,' which is a significant shift from their recent senior-level AI/ML research engineering roles. While they have data science intern experience, the current profile is heavily skewed towards advanced AI/ML research and engineering, which might indicate a potential mismatch with a pure data analyst role unless the role involves advanced analytical modeling or data science aspects.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Research Engineer and Lead at Meta, where they led a team to launch significant products, suggests strong leadership, project management, and collaboration skills. Their role as a Teaching Assistant also indicates communication and mentorship abilities. The project descriptions, while brief, suggest problem-solving and analytical thinking.
