I’ve made a career from changing the perception of technology. Gone are the days where technology is focused on infrastructure and operational support. Instead, technology plays a critical role, facing right into a business’ front line, interacting with its customers and underpinning its growth. Which means that the job of today’s CIO is integral to success – and driving true digital transformation is critical to staying ahead. Building a strong career foundation in digital before moving into executive leadership roles, I am fortunate to have worked with some of the world’s leading financial services institutions including ANZ and Aviva. Operating successfully in a highly complex and regulated industry, I bring expertise in governance, risk management and investment, balancing my ability to re-set organisational direction and strategy with the complex obligations of an executive and non-executive director. Since joining Sportsbet, I’ve been able to fully blend my skill set across digital transformation, project management and people leadership, building a world-class software engineering capability that has ultimately facilitated exceptional top and bottom line growth for the organisation. I rally my teams around four critical affirmations: We want to create platforms of the future, we want to create the best customer experience, we will continue to evolve the way we get stuff done and we will use the right tools. Keeping people between these lines, I operate from the side of the playing field to oversee and refine agile practices and processes that drive innovation and speed to market.
