I coded professionally for 22 years and enjoyed it very much. I switched back and forth to tech-leadership and programmer role and I learnt about leadership. In year 2023, I decided to move completely towards leadership and I am now playing the role of the engineering manager for my team. I am loving it. No! I don't get to code much at all. Coding is fun but leadership is fun too. I lead humbly and I grow and help my team members grow. I aspire to lead a team that builds systems that “just work”, software that is seamless, and that “no-one knows is there”

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a long and varied career, working in different companies and on diverse projects, which suggests adaptability and a broad perspective. Their progression from developer to senior engineering manager indicates ambition and a capacity for growth. However, the recent shift towards senior management roles (Head of Engineering, Senior Engineering Manager) might indicate a preference for leadership and strategic responsibilities over hands-on frontend development, which could impact cultural fit for a pure individual contributor frontend role. The lack of specific frontend projects or recent dedicated frontend skill development is a concern for cultural alignment with a frontend-focused team.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's extensive experience in lead and management roles suggests strong leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills. Their work on various systems and technologies indicates adaptability and problem-solving capabilities. However, the target role is 'Frontend Developer', which is a significant shift from their recent management and backend-heavy roles. While they have some frontend technologies listed (Knockout.js, Aurelia, jQuery, Ajax, Classic ASP, VB Script, JavaScript), their primary focus appears to be backend and architectural. This misalignment needs to be addressed to assess operational fit for a dedicated frontend role.
