CIO & CTO | eCommerce Transformation Complete | Now Leading Enterprise Supply Chain Modernization | AI & Retail Technology
I led a $1B+ eCommerce transformation not as a technology program, but as a business reinvention. The difference matters. Technology programs get managed. Business reinventions get owned. We got ours done in 15 months. Now I'm applying that same outcome-first discipline to an even more complex challenge: enterprise Supply Chain Transformation across 1,700+ stores and 20+ distribution centers. This mindset has defined 25+ years across retail, consulting, and enterprise technology. The measure of any technology investment is the business result it produces. That conviction shapes how I lead, prioritize, and build. I'm also actively deploying AI and agentic use cases to compress delivery timelines, automate decision cycles, and drive measurable outcomes, treating AI as an accelerant embedded into how transformation gets executed, not as an initiative unto itself. Before Coppel, I spent 12 years at Perficient building a 300+ person global consulting practice delivering eCommerce, order management, and headless commerce solutions for some of the world's largest retailers. And earlier at IBM, I architected commerce solutions for globally recognized brands, learning early that the most important decisions in any technology program are rarely technical ones. I also serve as Strategic Advisor at Currus AI, helping deploy connected AI and digital twin technology where it creates demonstrable operational value. What drives me: transformation at scale, at the intersection of technology, people, and business outcomes. I lead with curiosity, build with pragmatism, and execute with urgency. I'm also the founder of The Ark Institute, an independent nonprofit focused on youth education and ethical leadership since 2007, because the obligation to create positive impact doesn't stop at the office door. Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's career trajectory shows a strong focus on driving business value through technology, which aligns with performance-oriented cultures. Their experience across various companies, including consulting and non-profit work, indicates adaptability. However, the target role is 'Software Engineer', which is a significant mismatch with their current and recent executive-level leadership roles. While they have a technical background, their recent experience is heavily strategic and managerial, which might not align with a hands-on individual contributor engineering culture.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate demonstrates strong leadership, strategic planning, and execution capabilities, evidenced by their roles as CTO, CIO, and Managing Director. Their ability to lead large teams, manage complex projects, and drive significant business value suggests excellent operational fit for senior technical leadership roles. The descriptions highlight an outcome-first discipline and accountability.
