ML Research | Anterior | Ex CMU, IIT Madras, #1 @ Abridge AI
I am an experienced product builder and ML researcher. I have built breakthrough ML products from scratch at startups and worked at large product and research-oriented companies. I just joined Anterior to explore new avenues for Generative AI in Healthcare. At Abridge, I was the #1 employee (founding team member) and lead research, and I developed a first-of-its-kind conversation understanding capabilities for various healthcare actors. I created and lead ML R&D for Abridge’s automatic doctor documentation product. The product generates accurate clinical notes using clinical conversations with generative AI. Abridge went from 0 to 850M$ in valuation while I was there and is now valued at 5.3B$. I am also a member of the International Consortium for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Shared Decision Making (SDM) https://www.isdmsociety.org/special-interest-groups-icai/ I have publications across areas like LLMs, NLP, Speech, Computer Vision, Robotics, and Reinforcement Learning at top-tier conferences. - Portfolio - saiprabhakar.github.io/ - Google Scholar - scholar.google.com/citations?user=avFhCGUAAAAJ&hl=en Some of my recent interesting research works includes multi-modal generative AI, improving summarization models with human-edit information and developing custom metrics to evaluate LLM summaries. I have worked with popular Deep Learning frameworks, large data sets, Cloud platforms, and MLOps tools like Kubernetes, and Pub/Sub.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate demonstrates a strong cultural fit for roles requiring innovation, leadership, and impact, particularly within fast-paced, high-growth environments (e.g., Abridge's valuation growth). Their involvement in a non-profit for AI education suggests a commitment to knowledge sharing and community, which aligns with collaborative and growth-oriented cultures. The focus on medical AI across multiple roles indicates a passion for applying AI to real-world, impactful problems. However, the lack of explicit project details outside of work roles makes it harder to assess broader interests or specific team collaboration styles.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience at Abridge, where they were a founding ML team member and later an interim head, suggests strong leadership, collaboration with product/design teams, and strategic thinking. Their involvement in a non-profit for AI education in West Africa indicates a commitment to community and mentorship. The descriptions of scaling products and working with stakeholders imply good operational fit and communication skills.
