SCPay(Cash Payments)
June 1, 2026 – June 1, 2026
The main objective of this project is to enable payment transfers through various channels. Once SC Pay receives a payment, it processes it end-to-end based on the defined business requirements. A key requirement, mandated by ZECH (Zambia Electronic Clearing House), is that the bank sort code must be provided for all direct credit transactions. The bank sort code is a 6-digit ACH clearing code, which is derived from the Global Bank Codes. The RDM (Reference Data Management) system is the golden source for this data. The sort code itself is a combination of three elements: Bank Code, Area Code, and Branch Code. The project consists of seven services, each with its own responsibility. Among them, the Processor Service plays a central role. It integrates multiple libraries and handles all the necessary validations within itself. Roles & Responsibilities: Developed backend features based on user stories using Java 8+, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Involved in bug fixing and defect resolution across development, testing, and production environments. Used Kebana for log analysis, monitoring application behavior, and troubleshooting production issues efficiently. Designed, developed, and maintained RESTful APIs for banking services like customer onboarding, payments, and transaction history. Integrated applications with Kafka for event-driven data flow and handled persistence using JPA/Hibernate. Participated in Agile ceremonies – sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives – and used JIRA for task tracking. Ensured secure API development using JWT and OAuth2 protocols, aligned with banking compliance standards. Collaborated with DevOps team for deployments using Jenkins, GitLab CI, and containerization with Docker/Kubernetes. Supported production monitoring and incident resolution in collaboration with QA and support teams.
