Pedestrian Detection using Support Vector Machine (Machine Learning)

This software will detect if humans are present in the given picture or not (output 1 if present or -1 if not present). This project is based on paper Histograms of oriented gradients for human detection. 2005 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR'05). In this project, supervised learning algorithm was implemented using Support Vector Machine (SVM) model. The Machine learning algorithm was provided with labelled data set of images for both positives and negatives. The JPG images will be normalized and Histogram of Gradients (HOG) will extract feature vectors from training dataset. SVM algorithm will come up with classification equation separating positives and negatives. Finally, once the learning is completed the equation will be dumped into a file and used for real time classification. During real time classification, the algorithm will be provided with a real image, it will use the equation and tell us if the picture had human beings or not.

- 8X8 (8 Input ports and 8 Output ports) switch has been implemented using System Verilog - Serial data can come from any of the 8 input ports and get routed to any of the 8 output ports - The design has FIFO implemented to buffer packets so that there is no loss of packets even when all input ports are transmitting data to one output port - The design has been verified for 4 tests SMOKE test, 1PORT test, 4PORT test and CONCURRENT test and found to be functionally working well for all test cases - The design is further synthesized and timing verifications are done and the design met the timing requirements for 24ns clock frequency (30ns is the requirement for the project). Gate level verifications have been performed and ensured the design works for all 4 tests even after synthesis
Tomasulo Algorithm Simulator using Python

- Built a Tomasulo cycle simulator which will give a break up of execution cycle for given assembly program - All the functional units in Tomasulo architecture are configurable - We can study the performance improvements by changing the number of functional units in the Computer Architecture for given code.
