Transcendental Information Cascades
September 1, 2015 – Present
I investigate the intrinsic information transmission capabilities of information spaces such as the World Wide Web. The transcendental information cascades method abstracts the (social) context away from the technological substrate to understand intrinsic information cascades, considering not only local understanding of complex events but also a global view. The approach exploits only the temporal order of content streams, and intrinsic properties of the individual content elements itself, to construct cascades of information co-occurrence. This makes it a suitable approach to trace emergent information flows in scenarios where rich contextual features are unavailable, positioning it as a promising method for context-free exploratory data analysis.

The Web Macroscope provides an observational and analytical lens on various different Web streams in real-time. The Macroscope also provides an interactive interface to allow participants to filter and aggregate multiple streams of data.
Flow140
March 1, 2014 – Present
Design and development of a real-time streaming application to monitor the flow of conversation within online social networks including Twitter. Using a bespoke algorithm (patent pending), Flow140 is able to identify and visualise streams of relevant conversation as well as the key influencers, in real-time. Flow140 has been shown to work as an effective tool in understanding, monitoring, and reacting to breaking news and events, across multiple sectors of industry and government. Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's career trajectory shows a strong inclination towards cutting-edge AI and data science research and application, aligning well with innovative and forward-thinking organizational cultures. Their experience across academic research, major tech companies (Microsoft, AWS, Google DeepMind), and global consulting (Accenture) demonstrates adaptability and a broad understanding of different operational environments. The involvement in AI Ethics & Governance suggests a commitment to responsible AI development. The diverse project portfolio, from academic research to real-time social network analysis, indicates a curious and versatile individual. However, the target role of 'Data Analyst' might be a significant step down from their current and past leadership roles (Director, Chief AI Officer, Managing Director), potentially leading to a mismatch in expectations regarding scope and responsibility. While technically overqualified, the role alignment needs careful consideration to ensure long-term engagement.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's extensive experience in leadership roles at top-tier technology and consulting firms suggests strong communication, strategic thinking, and team collaboration skills. Their involvement in setting up and leading AI engineering hubs indicates operational leadership and the ability to build and manage high-performing technical teams. The focus on client solutions and business transformation implies strong problem-solving and stakeholder management abilities. The 'Generative AI for Reinvention: Enabling the C-Suite' certification further highlights a strategic and business-oriented mindset.
