Image Recognition - Artificial Intelligence
October 1, 2016 – Present
This project is about making machine to learn to recognize different images and classify them. I used Convolution Neural Network concepts to implement this project. Input data set : a sample kaggle data set consisting of images of cats and dogs. Output: machine was successfully able to recognize the image and classify it as dog or cat. Upon multiple iteration I was able to achieve 60% accuracy. Technology used - Python, Tensor flow, TFlearn api, skikit, numpy, TensorBoard.
Twitter Sentiment Analysis - US Airlines
June 1, 2016 – Present
This is a hobby project. First I identified sentiment types in twitter statements and classified them into positive, negative and neutral. Next I identified the reason for negative sentiments and in the end I measured the number of negative tweets for each airline. I used R programming for this project.
Machine Learning - Hidden Markov Model
May 1, 2016 – Present
The goal of the this project is to understand the use of viterbi algorithm, when a system is modeled as a Hidden Markov process. The project is about using viterbi algorithm to solve the mystery of a fair and loaded dice in Casino royal. I implemented the algorithm in python.
Web Search Engine
May 1, 2016 – Present
The project aims at developing a robust search engine for travel domain. The project is divided into three main components 1. Web Crawling - where travel related webpages are crawled, systematically labeled and indexed. 2. Retrieval - in this step we provide relevant search results for user query through various techniques like query boosting, query expansion, stemming, stopping, spell check, query parsing. We also handled geo-distance based queries and automatic facet selection. 3. Search Engine Evaluation - To evaluate search engine results we measured effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction through user activity log. Technologies used - Elastic search, Play framework, Java, HTML5, CSS3, JSON, Jquery
Web Crawler
April 1, 2016 – Present
Implemented a web crawler that takes three inputs: start seed, number of pages to crawl and an optional domain restriction. The crawled data was processed to remove noise (navigation bar, advertisement etc). We then computed term frequency on the processed data and verified whether it follows Zipf's law. For performance evaluation we computed cosine similarity between our processed data and the original context data. The result came out to be 0.93 cosine value. Technologies used: Java, Jsoup library and concepts of Web Search and Information Retrieval.
Volunteer Connect - Mobile Application development (android)
March 1, 2016 – Present
Volunteer Connect app allows individuals to search for volunteer opportunities in their neighborhood. Our app has two types of users: Volunteers - who are interested in helping or volunteering.Event Organizers or Non Profit Organization - are the one's who organize events and are looking for volunteers. Following are some of the functionality that our app provides: 1. Event Organizer registers with the app and he can add events. 2. Organizer gets notification when new volunteer joins any event. 3. Volunteer can search for volunteer opportunity in his neighborhood, he can filter events based on category and location. 4. Volunteer can share event details with friends via sms or email. 5. If volunteer is interested in the event, he can add event to his calendar. Technologies used: Android sdk, FireBase as a backend service and Java
Independent study - website for Urban Harvester a non profit organization (MEAN stack)
November 1, 2015 – Present
Urban harvester is a non profit organisation whose mission is to connect the dots of excess food from retailers to agencies feeding those in need. We have designed and developed a web application that automates the existing operations of Urban Harvester. Technologies used: MEAN stack - (MongoDB, Express framework, AngularJS, Node.js)
E-commerce Website - Web Programming
November 1, 2015 – Present
Designed and Implemented an eCommerce website for Wine Industry using MVC design pattern. This website allows our users to search wine, add / remove wine from shopping cart, browse wine based on different categories, filter based on price and wine type. Technology used : HTML5, CSS3, XML, AJAX, JavaScript, Jquery, PHP, MYSQL
Book Vending Machine - Design Patterns Java
August 1, 2015 – Present
It is a Smart Vending Machine that allows user to exchange and rent used books for low cost. It is a desktop application. We have used creational, structural and behavioral design patterns in java. Technology used: Java, Swing, MySQL, Visual Paradigm for UML Diagram.
Foursquare Data Analysis - Big Data
April 1, 2015 – Present
The objective of this project is to get interesting insights out of the large foursquare data-set and carry out performance testing. Collaborated with team of three and came up with following use cases: busiest hour analysis, Top 100 check-ins, average rating given to top check-ins, Geo-hash algorithm and Single-node vs Multi-node performance comparison. Technology Used: Hadoop, MapReduce, R, Java
SLA driven clustering of QoS aware Application Servers
March 1, 2011 – Present
In this project we developed a middleware architecture that can be integrated in an application server to allow it to honor the SLAs of the application it hosts -to make it QoS aware. The designed architecture supports dynamic clustering of QoS- aware Application Servers and load balancing. The proposed model consisted of client, middleware(LBS,CS,MS) and two clusters each of one node. Middleware offers three services:Load Balancing Service(LBS), Configuration Service(CS) and Monitoring Service(MS). The client sends HTTP requests which consisted Server SLA and Ip address. These requests are intercepted by LBS at runtime and the request is forwarded to the cluster selected by Adaptive load balancing algorithm. The selected cluster serves the request and reply is sent to client. The CS allocates resources to request. MS monitors at system at runtime. Technology used : Netbeans Ide, Glassfish Application Servers , Java, J2EE, EJB, JDBC, JSP, Servlets and Mysql
