3D Printing with Metals
August 1, 2014 – Present
Project focusses on the market opportunity case of "3d Printing with Metal" 3D printing can be a game changer for manufacturers’ supply chains around the world. The ultimate goal is to print the product at the point where the order /sale is made. This vision will not materialize without 3D printers that can print with metal. Currently these printers are large and expensive. What is stopping the industry from printing metal at the point of sale? Why can’t we print a part for a wrist watch at the shop? What technology needs to be delivered to enable this at a reasonable cost?
