Operating Systems: Modifications in the XINU kernel
January 1, 2018 – April 1, 2018
Modified the XINU kernel to experiment with alternative strategies for rescheduling, memory management, measure system call time, handle interrupts and other OS concepts. Deployed the OS on a Virtual environment (qemu).
Parallel Computing: Lake Ripples Simulation
August 1, 2017 – November 1, 2017
Implemented an algorithm written in C to simulate the effect of the ripples created in a lake by dropping multiple pebbles at random coordinates into the lake. Ran on multiple GPUs using CUDA, MPI, OpenMP and OpenACC.
Recommendation System for Airbnb
March 1, 2017 – April 1, 2017
Built a model, based on time series forecasting and sentiment analysis, to suggest a quotation for house owner based on features like location, amenities, user reviews, market price. The data analyzed was for the city of Boston.
Painter By Numbers (Identifying a Painter's Fingerprint)
February 1, 2017 – April 1, 2017
Implemented a machine learning model based on Textons to test the existence of a painter’s fingerprint. Analyzed over 100,000 paintings, using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), clustering and classification algorithms.
Raspador
January 1, 2017 – Present
Ongoing project to take advantage of an indigenously developed web crawler, to scrape data across several websites and make sense of them. Technologies being used are, python and distributed computing (still testing).
Establishing a Backdoor on a Remote System
September 1, 2016 – Present
Using Raw Sockets, developed a communication interface between 2 systems on the basis of Port Knocking. Packets at a correct sequence of ports triggered the backdoor on the remote machine giving root access. Was implemented as a part of Computer and Network Security Class.
Enron Fraud Detection
March 1, 2016 – May 1, 2016
Constructed a machine learning model that analyzed data from the Enron email database, which was made publicly available by the court after the Enron trial of 2006, and was able to detect person of interest, by analyzing financial and email text features. Implemented concepts like Principal Component Analysis, feature extraction, outlier removal, cross validation
Cloud Based Android Application
July 1, 2015 – Present
Developed an Android application which continuously gathers data from mobile phones in terms of locations visited, images clicked, calls & texts made/received, and stores it in a convenient manner on a server. The server will aim to provide the cloud feature, which will make the users access their data from any device from any place. The primary aim of this project is to make old memories accessible whenever demanded. Apart from this, in case of lost phone, lost user, tracking children, providing an alibi, etc. this application would be handy.
Udacity Forum Analysis (Hadoop and Big Data)
June 1, 2015 – Present
Wrote snippets of code in python, to perform activities on the forums of Udacity. Analyzed the forums and deduced useful conclusions from them. The project implemented Hadoop using MapReduce in Python using the Cloudera platform.
Linux Based Mail Server
January 1, 2015 – April 1, 2015
Setup an intranet Mail Server to receive feedback from the college aero-design team website. The mail server was setup in CentOS7 with apache server used as both mail and web server.
Online Entertainment Website
January 1, 2015 – January 1, 2015
Developed a Website which allowed users to stream tv shows, music, movies or read ebooks. The website was developed using ASP .net at the front and SQL Server at the back end. This project was a part of the Structured and Object Oriented Analysis and Design course.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's project portfolio is diverse, ranging from network security and operating systems to web development and significant machine learning applications. This breadth indicates intellectual curiosity and a willingness to tackle varied challenges. The target role is ML Engineer, and a substantial portion of their projects and their Master's specialization align well with this. However, the lack of explicit team-based project descriptions or contributions to open-source projects makes it difficult to fully assess collaborative cultural fit beyond individual project initiative.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's project descriptions indicate a proactive and experimental approach to problem-solving, as seen in modifying the XINU kernel and establishing a backdoor for security class. The variety of projects suggests adaptability and a willingness to explore different technical domains. However, without psychometric test results, a comprehensive assessment of soft skills like logical reasoning, work attitude, stress handling, and team collaboration is not possible.
