Senior Research Manager, AI at Meta · Multimodal AI for the Physical World · Video & Any-Modality LLMs
The next generation of AI won't live on a screen — it'll run continuously, reasoning over live video in real time. That's the problem I work on. I manage a research team at Meta building multimodal foundation models, and I stay active as a researcher and core contributor. My focus: any-modality language models that reason over text, image, video, audio, and sensor signals; real-time video understanding under tight inference constraints; and how vision-language models develop spatial and 3D reasoning. More recently: post-training — using RL to close the gap between what a multimodal model knows and what it actually does in deployment

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a strong background in research and management within large corporate and academic environments. The transition from research/management to a Data Analyst role might indicate a desire for a more hands-on, analytical focus. The breadth of experience across different organizations suggests adaptability. However, the target role of 'Data Analyst' is a significant shift from 'Senior Research Manager, AI', which could indicate a potential mismatch in expectations regarding day-to-day responsibilities and career trajectory. Further clarification on the candidate's motivation for this specific role is needed to fully assess cultural fit.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Senior Research Manager and Data Science Manager suggests strong leadership, project management, and team collaboration skills. The academic background as an Assistant Professor further supports strong communication and problem-solving abilities. However, specific operational fit for a pure Data Analyst role, which often involves more hands-on data manipulation and reporting rather than research management, needs further validation.
