Director, AI/ML, US Operations | Fellow, CACI International Inc
My career in AI began in applied research, developing machine learning and computer vision solutions for complex remote sensing problems. Early work focused on advancing new capabilities — from semi-supervised labeling pipelines and real-time object tracking to multi-modal fusion techniques aligning imagery and SIGINT data. These efforts pushed technical boundaries while delivering practical operational value. Over time I realized that the real challenge was not building models, but operationalizing them. I moved into machine learning engineering and technical leadership, helping establish the data platforms, development environments, and MLOps practices required to move AI from research prototypes into scalable systems. Today my work focuses on advancing the adoption of AI across the enterprise. As Director of AI/ML within U.S. Operations at CACI — and a CACI Fellow — I work across programs, capture efforts, and market leadership to shape how AI capabilities are integrated into operational systems and new business solutions. I established and lead the AI Acceleration Center (A2C), which helps programs identify AI opportunities, develop initial capabilities, and transition them into operational environments while establishing the infrastructure and practices required for sustained use. My work sits at the intersection of technology, strategy, and operational delivery — helping organizations move beyond experimentation and build AI capabilities that can be deployed, sustained, and scaled.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a consistent career trajectory within defense contracting (CACI, Electromagnetic Systems, Inc.), indicating a strong fit for structured, mission-critical environments. Their academic background and research roles suggest a culture of continuous learning and innovation. The diversity of projects, from computer vision for satellite imagery to NLP and generative AI evaluation, shows adaptability and a broad interest in AI applications. However, the lack of experience in diverse commercial sectors might indicate a specific cultural alignment rather than broad industry exposure.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Director and Technical Lead, coupled with their involvement in establishing an AI Acceleration Center, indicates strong leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive AI adoption within an organization. Their work with cross-functional teams (data engineering, software, mission, UX, GIS) suggests excellent collaboration and communication skills. The focus on MLOps and productionizing models demonstrates a practical, operational mindset crucial for senior ML roles.
