ROOFTOP-SOLAR-POTENTIAL-DETECTION-USING--SATELITE-IMAGERY

We are going to map the location and where we can install Solar Panels on rooftops. It can be very useful for investing in renewable distributed energy infrastructures. We are going to use Machine Learning algorithms with satellite and aerial images for overcoming the limitations of surveys. To achieve our required results, we are going to use supervised methods based on CNN (Convolutional Neural networks) to determine available rooftop area for the installation of PV panels by use of pixel-wise image segmentation. We will create the dataset from satellite images and we label them manually. We have to try different data augmentation and parameters of algorithms to pull the model to its maximum performance/potential .On first time we will train our model on the whole dataset, then we will train our model only on a specific class of images, Residential Area (our hypothesis is that in order to generalize our solution on different geographical areas, It will be better in a first step split
