Ph.D. | Research Scientist at Pryon Inc
Completed my PhD in Computer Science in December, 2025 from the University of California San Diego, where I researched machine learning and deep learning theory with Misha Belkin. I spent my summers in grad school at Simons Institute for Theory of Computing and as a PhD Research Intern at Microsoft Research New England and Google Research. Previously, I worked as an AI Research Engineer at Pryon on problems in the natural language and vision space as it relates to document understanding, question-answering, and information retrieval. Before that I spent time at IBM on a Watson team doing natural language processing for labeling and augmentation of text dataset, weak supervision in active learning, as well as research on acoustic modeling in hybrid speech recognition systems. I graduated with a B.S. from Johns Hopkins University as a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics. My undergraduate thesis was in representation learning with a focus on speech recognition.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate's diverse experience across academia (PhD, research internships), large corporations (Google, Microsoft, IBM), and startups (Pryon, InCaptus, Womp.in) indicates adaptability to various organizational cultures. The research focus aligns well with an innovative, data-driven environment. However, the lack of explicit project details or contributions beyond role descriptions makes it difficult to fully assess alignment with specific team dynamics or values.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Co-Founder at InCaptus and Womp.in, along with roles at IBM Extreme Blue, suggests strong initiative, collaboration, and project management skills. The description of pitching ideas to executives indicates good communication and presentation abilities. However, without specific psychometric test results, a full assessment of work attitude, stress handling, and team collaboration is limited.
