Software Engineer at RelationalAI
I am a software engineer at RelationalAI working on core aspects of the company's relational knowledge graph system. Prior to that I was a postdoctoral researcher with the Database Architectures group at CWI (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica). I earned my PhD in Computer Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business focusing on integrating machine learning (ML) functionality with relational databases and expressing ML algorithms in declarative programming languages. In the context of this effort, I also worked with the LogicBlox team (later acquired by Infor) on expressing and optimising machine learning problems using the company's relational platform. I enjoy working on problems that involve system implementation, as well as learning new programming languages and paradigms. A challenging topic and a good team are the two things that motivate me most at work.

Cultural Fit Analysis
The candidate has a strong academic and research background, which could be a good fit for an organization that values deep technical exploration and innovation. However, the project descriptions are very brief and lack specific technologies, making it difficult to assess the breadth of practical application and collaboration styles. The transition from academic research to industry roles (Software Engineer at RelationalAI, Infor, LogicBlox) shows adaptability. The target role of ML Engineer aligns well with the candidate's research focus on sentiment analysis and database architectures, suggesting a potential for good cultural fit in a technically driven environment.
Soft Skills & Operational Fit
The candidate's experience as a Teaching Assistant and Postdoctoral Researcher suggests strong communication and presentation skills, as well as an ability to work independently and in a research team. The descriptions of past roles are somewhat brief, limiting a deeper assessment of operational fit and specific soft skills beyond what can be inferred from academic and research roles.
